- Gene-a unit of heredity, transferred from a parent to offspring.
- Allele-found on a chromosome, one of two or more variations of a gene.
- Genotype-refers to the alleles. (BB, Bb, bb)
- Phenotype-refers the observable trait. (brown hair, green eyes)
- Dominate-a trait that happens more frequently than another.
- Recessive-a trait that happens less often, the weaker trait
- Homozygous-having two identical alleles of a particular gene (BB,bb)
- Heterozygous- having two different alleles of a particular gene (Bb)
