Parents/Guardian Help

A parent or another adult can see a student's Canvas classes/courses once they have created an account Download created an account.  Here is a video overview of creating an account and pairing with your student Links to an external site..  (More parents/guardian help for Canvas is below.)

In Canvas, parents or guardians are called “Observers.”  You have to share a code, called a Pairing Code, for them to see things.  This only has to be done one time.  

On the far left side, click the Account link.  Choose Settings.

1. 1. 1. Click the 'Pair with Observer' button.
      2. Copy or write down the pairing code (pay attention to capital and lower-case letters).
      3. Click the 'OK' button to close the window.
      4. Share the code with the Observer.

How to Give Someone a Pairing Code

A few notes about pairing codes:

• • • Codes expire after seven days
    • Once the code is used, it cannot be used by another person.
    • If you need help, please ask your teacher.
