Learning Target: I can identify affixes and use them correctly. I can identify the Main Idea and Supporting Details of an informational text. I can write a constructed response using my leveled text.
Monday
- Introduction to Unit 6 affixes.
- Main Idea Pretest
Tuesday
- Unit 6 sorting affixes
- The teacher will model identifying the main idea and supporting details by reading “Mars and Earth”. Students will practice with their leveled buddy by reading “Pirates”.
Wednesday:
- Students will complete sentences using context clues.
- The teacher will model identifying the main idea and supporting details by reading “Why You Should Be a Vegetarian". Students will practice with their leveled buddy by reading “The Great White”.
Thursday:
- Students will complete sentences using context clues.
- Students will review the terms Main Idea and Supporting Details. Students will then be placed in leveled reading groups and given an iReady informational passage (Benjamin Franklin). Students will identify the Main Idea and Supporting Details. We will then come back together as a whole group and review the GO.
Friday:
- Unit 6 QUIZ
- Main Idea Game
