Learning Target: I can explain how series of chapters, scenes, or stanzas fit together to provide the structure for a story, drama, or poem. I can identify and use interjections correctly.
Monday:
- Reading: Introduce plays using Brainpop.com. Students will discuss how a play should be read and its parts. Working with a partner, students will create a Venn Diagram discussing the differences between a book and a play, then write a paragraph explaining those differences.
- Grammar: Students will view an introductory video clip on interjections and practice identifying interjections in sentences.
- Vocabulary: Unit 15 affixes
Tuesday:
- Reading: As a whole group, students will read "The Tortoise and the Hare". While reading students will play close attention to our drama voc. terms.
- Grammar: Students will continue to practice identifying and using interjections via a Nearpod lesson.
- Vocabulary: Unit 15 affixes - sorting activity
Wednesday:
- Reading: As a whole group, students will read "Yeh Shen". While reading students will play close attention to our drama voc. terms.
- Grammar: Students will continue to practice identifying and using interjections via a Nearpod lesson.
- Vocabulary: Unit 15 affixes - context clues activity
Thursday:
- Reading: Working with a partner, students will create an ending scene to either, "The Tortoise and the Hare" or "Yeh Shen". The ending must take place 1 year after the event and tell what the characters are presently doing.
- Grammar: Students will play Interjections Kahoot.
- Vocabulary: Unit 15 affixes - context clues activity
