PowerUp Asynchronous Learning Day Expectations

As you meet with your staff, please review the guidance provided for your PowerUp Asynchronous Learning Days. 

  • Instructional Guidance and Resources for Students: The instructional resources are available in Richmond Ready, but we have linked them here for your convenience: Asynchronous Learning Day Resources Links to an external site.. Please give your staff guidance about creating and assigning meaningful digital learning assignments. Please remind your staff that assignments should be open/available from the evenining of the last in-person school day until midnight before the return to in-person instruction (ex: After school on Friday, September 1 until Midnight on Tuesday, September 5).   • Technology Distribution Timeline and Resources: Please review the linked PowerUp Process Resources Links to an external site.. All student devices should be distributed prior to each PowerUp Asynchronous Learning Day. All schools are expected to distribute devices for students to work at home digitally during the Asynchronous Learning weekend. If you have questions about device distribution, please reach out to Carolyn McCord, Daryll Craig, or your school technician.
  • Student Attendance: Students who complete their assignments -OR- log in during the Asynchronous Learning Weekend (ex: between the evening of 9/1 through midnight of 9/5) will be marked present for the PowerUp Asynchronous Learaning Day (September 5, October 6, February 20, and March 8).
  • Staff Expectations: Teachers are expected to report to the school to work in-person on PowerUp Asynchronous Learning Days. Schools may operate on their regular school work hours or principals may follow the 8:00-4:00 Teacher Workday Schedule. This day is designed for teachers to plan collaboratively, analyze data, assess student work with feedback, and conference with parents as scheduled.
