Child Find and Sprigeo for Principals
Child Find
Under federal law, all public schools must look for, find, and evaluate kids who need additional supports. Child Find covers children from ages birth through age 21. Additionally, it applies to children that are homeschooled, attend private schools, migrants, and those without homes.
Key Dates
September 1: Teachers submit their checklists for review
September 15 or before: Final review of completed checklists by principal
September 22 or before: Statement of Assurance submitted via email to hudsogi@boe.richmond.k12.ga.us

The MTSS Facilitators in all schools developed plans to lead and support the completion of the Child Find process during the month of August. With the MTSS Data team, principals should review the Child Find Lists by September 15 and submit the Statement of Assurance by September 22, 2023.
Sprigeo Tip Line
Principals are asked to take the following steps below:
- Identify 2-4 individuals who will monitor the Tip Line reports. Principals must be one of the contacts.
- Send the names of anyone you want to have access to the Tip Line to Dr. Gina Hudson.
- Ensure all identified contacts complete the online training module (28 minutes). Link: Sprigeo Tip Line Training Links to an external site.
- Ensure staff is introduced to the Tip Line using the Overview PDF to assist.
- Introduce the Tip Line to students using the sample script.
- Ensure posters should be displayed in your building promoting the Tip Line. Please contact Dr. Hudson if more posters are needed.
