SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR planning should be underway! Science and Engineering Fair Sponsors have received a timeline to support student submissions as well as the deadline for hosting all school-based fairs. Sponsors are to report 1st place winners by December 17th for students to advance to the next level.

08/05 - 10/18: Unknown no-show Students:As of 08/19 no student should be coded as TNS - teachers should not be using this code for attendance.
The deadline for all no-show students to have an end status has passed, please make sure your registrar has assigned an end status to all no-show students.
At this point schools should continue working to locate all no-show students who have a withdrawal code of U-Unknown before October 18th (this deadline has been extended from its original date of September 27th to allow schools additional time to locate no-show U-Unknown students).
For any students not found (U-Unknown withdrawal code), and after all efforts to find a student have been exhausted, the school Social Worker will submit a CHINS complaint with an attached contact log by or before October 18th.

Student Led Conferences: Student-led conferences are a powerful practice that aligns with student agency goals by empowering students to take charge of their learning. Through these conferences, students reflect on their academic progress, set personal goals, and present their achievements and challenges to their parents and teachers. This process fosters self-awareness, self-advocacy, and a growth mindset, which are key components of student agency. Two articles are included below as a resource for preparing to host student-led conferences:
