Fundamental Principles of the Constitution

There are six Principles of the US Constitution.  These principals are (1) Popular Sovereignty, (2) Limited Government, (3) Federalism, (4) Checks and Balances, (5) Separation of Powers, and (6) Federalism.  These principles are important because they create balance between the people and the government, making sure that the government never becomes too powerful.  

For a more in depth look at the six principles, click on the resources below. As you look at each principle, make sure you are recording the highlights of each, i.e., the "what" and "why" for each. You will be using this information as you complete your final task!
