Punting:

Stay short (jab step and stride)

Maintain leverage on the football by being over your hips

Ball drop should be flat

Power is gained through your quadricep and hip

Throwing:

Most important factors are spin rate and velocity.

Index finger should be the last to leave the ball.

Consistency in mechanics.

Grip and Strength

Kicking:

Steps:  line up 10 yards back, slow approach, plant your foot, keep your hips open and chest pointed outward, keep your foot locked out and land on your kicking foot.

You want to kick the ball a 1/4 the way up on the seams.  

Blocking:

Reach Block - reach across the defender  on the other side (used for run plays)

Pass Protection Blocking Form:  keep arms extended, elbows bent inward, head up and shoulders back, strike with the palms

Run Protection Blocking Form:  Keep tight hands inside of defender's chest, minimize wasted movement

Base Block - performed on a defensive lineman lined up directly over an offensive lineman

Cut-off Block - on an angle to the defender after allowing the defender across the line

Tackling:

Maintain the two V's:  ankle to knee and knee to shoulder

Form Steps:  Stay low, come to balance, eyes at the waste level, remain under control.

Hit position - body position on the point of contact.
