Rules:

Object of the game is to win each match the fastest.

Variation of Tennis.

Played with singles or doubles.

Court is 25% smaller than a tennis court. 

Solid string less rackets, compressed tennis balls.

Begins with an underhand serve.

One bounce to play the ball back.  You may hit the ball when it is in the air.

You can use the walls as play.

Points = 15, 30, 40, match point

Win six games and be two games ahead wins the set.

Leave the court to play the ball.

Cannot hit the ball in the net, or hit twice, cannot touch the net.

Fault - illegal serve

Double Fault - two illegal serves in a row when the point is awarded to the other team.

Change ends after each odd number game.

Court Dimensions:

20 meters long by 10 meters wide

Net - 88 centimeters above the ground

Entire course is caged in with glass.

Side walls are 3 meters high.

Back walls are 4 meters high.

Serve:

Intention - put opponent under pressure

How to Serve:

  1. bounce the ball in front/to the side of the body
  2. take the racket back to the furthest point
  3. contact is always waste high or just below
  4.  little slice
  5. body momentum is forward

Smash Out:

The Shot - flat, no spin and down to bounce and clear

Factors - angle is dependent upon net position

Technique - early recognition, early preparation

Technical Tips:

  1. Racket coming down on the ball
  2. Contact in front of you
  3. Use a little bit of the wrist

Common Errors - too far back, smash on difficult balls and aim for the wrong target zone

Finish:

Easy Ball - bounces inside second post

Ball goes high, contact above the net height

Where to aim:

  1. center
  2. into the gaps

What to do - be aggressive, fast racket head speed, come through the ball, hit with margin for error

Common Errors:

Drop shot

Hitting to hard

Skill Set:  Forehand:

Steps:

  1. Take racket all the way back with shoulders turning
  2. Place your feet sideways to the court for body weight transfer
  3. Horizontal swing through, with a twist and turn of the hip and follow through

Two Errors:

  1. Don't take the racket back right away
  2. Hit with an open stance using only your arms

Hit the Ball Flat:

  1. Less risk
  2. More effective
  3. Disguise your shot
