Digital Citizenship Resource InfographicHow to Access Your Digital Citizenship Resources

Beginning Monday, August 8th you will have access to Common Sense Media's Digital Citizenship curriculum packaged inside of modules in Canvas Commons.  To access these resources, navigate to Canvas Commons in the global navigation column to the left and search for "RCSS Digital Citizenship," then import the relevant grade-level resources into a Canvas Sandbox (NOT into a course with active students).  If you have trouble accessing any of these resources contact Glenda Collingsworth (Director of Professional Learning) or Owen Fletcher (Instructional Technology Coordinator).

How to Facilitate Your Digital Citizenship Lessons

Digital Citizenship lessons should be completed by all students at your school within the first two weeks after the start of the school year.  These lessons should be facilitated in person by the teacher, and not as asynchronous or self-paced lessons with students. At the elementary and middle level, every teacher should plan on using these lessons in their instruction during the first two weeks. For High school teachers, principals will designate who is responsible for facilitating the lessons - e.g., during homeroom, a specific subject area, etc. Please check with your Principal if you are unsure who is responsible for facilitating the lessons.

Other Procedures & Forms

During the first two weeks, it's a good idea to go over other policies and procedures related to device use and care as well. Below are some links you may want to review with your students.
