Westward Expansion Project

#1: Students will choose one of the following topics as it relates to the Westward Expansion in America: 20 points

• The burning of the Capitol and the White House 
• The writing of “The Star Spangled Banner.”
• The Trail of Tears
• Battle of Little Bighorn
• The forced relocation of American Indians to reservations.
• The Louisiana Purchase
• The Lewis and Clark expedition
• The acquisitions of Texas (the Alamo and independence)
• The Oregon Trail
• The California Gold Rush 

#2: Students will create a PowerPoint, Prezi or Powtoon 20 points

#3: Students should include a title page with their topic title and their name. 10 points

#4: Students will explain the topic in at least 3 complete paragraphs. 30 points 

#5: Include at least 3 pictures of the event. 20 points
