Learning Targets and Essential Questions-February 14-17
This week we will begin with a brief introduction to Roman lyric poetry in celebration of Valentine's Day. Then we will close our study of 1st and 2nd declension adjectives with an assessment. Finally, we will be introduced to the irregular verbs volo, nolo, fero and eo in the present and imperfect tenses. Students will learn to conjugate these verbs and to recognize them in context of a passage. Essential Questions:
1) What is a lyric poem?
2) What are the themes of Catullus poems, V and VIII?
3) How do you change an adjective to make it agree with a noun in Latin?
4) How do I use a chart to translate the irregular verbs in the present and imperfect tenses?
