Chapter 21 and Review
In today's lesson, we will review the three tenses of the regular verb and begin to translate the story "Murder" on page 173-174. The learning targets include that students will be able to form and translate verbs in three tenses: present, imperfect and perfect and that students will be able to synthesize their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary to translate a passage in Latin.
Opening: Students take the Chapter 20 Vocabulary Quiz.
Lesson: Students will conjugate the verb punio, punire, punivi, punitus - to punish in 3 tenses. Students will preview the vocabulary by completing the definitions of the words below. Students will then translate the passage "Murder" . LInes 1-5 will be translated as a whole class activity. Lines 6-12 will be translated as independent practice.
Closing; Students will review the plot of the story.
