Chapter 21 Day 2

Students will continue their review of tenses by conjugating the irregular verb sum, esse in three tenses. Students will then translate the rest of the story, "Murder".  The learning targets for today's lesson include that students are able to form and translate the irregular verb sum, esse in present, imperfect and perfect tenses and that students can synthesize their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary to translate and comprehend a passage in Latin.

Opening; Students preview vocabulary from the daily translation.

Lesson: Students will conjugate the verb sum, esse in three tenses. Students will demonstrate knowledge of translation of each form. Students will then work on the story, "Murder" on page 174 of the Ecce Romani textbook. Lines 13-20 will be read in a whole class activity, while 21-27 will be translated independently.

Closing: Students will summarize the story.
