The Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) for middle school mathematics are designed to help prepare students to be high school ready. These standards focus broadly on the conceptual categories of Number Sense, Algebra, Expressions & Equations, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability. In Grade 7, specific attention will be given to: operations with rational numbers; proportional relationships; calculating area, surface area, and volume from 3-dimensional figures; and using populations samples to draw inferences.
